Actor Hany Ramzi
Egyptian comedian Hani Ramzi revealed that he agreed to present the TV show \"Tonight with Hani\" after refusing several offers to work in other TV shows. Hani stressed he accepted the offer from MBC Misr channel only because he liked the idea of the show.
Speaking to Arabstoday, Hani
said he will not imitate any of the known styles of the TV presenters as he will present his show like an actor would.
\"I was interested in the concept because it will allow me to discuss the negative things happening in the society with an ironic touch. I will host specialists in some problems and the people who are suffering from these problems as well. My show will not be all about hosting artists like many thought,\" said Hani.
On his future projects, Hani told Arabstoday that he was currently getting ready for a now film entitled \"Tom & Jimmy\", which tells the story of a mentally unbalanced man, who faces a lot of problems in society.
\"It is one of the toughest acting experiences I\'ve had in my career. I visited a psychiatric hospital to meet people who have the same problem of the character. These visits were very useful for me in getting close to these people and to learn about the challenges and difficulties they face,\" Hani explained.
As one of the most acclaimed Coptic figures in Egypt, Hani expressed his satisfaction with the \"civilised way\" in which the selection procedures of the new Coptic Pope in Egypt were conducted. He expressed his best wishes to the new Pope, Tawadros II to succeed in continuing the efforts of the late Pope Shenouda III supporting peace and love among all Egyptians.
Hani\'s latest film was \"Sami Oxide el-Carbon\" (Sami Carbon Oxide), and was screened in summer 2011.
