The Egyptian comedy actress, Carolina Khalil
Cairo – Shaima Mekkawy
The Egyptian comedy actress Carolina Khalil said in an interview with Arabstoday that she is involved in two projects this year; one of them being a new series of \'Next Doors\' (Elbab fel Bab), in which Khalil will feature alongside
major stars like Laila Taher, Sherif Salama and Hesham Ismail. Laila Taher plays her mother-in-law, and actor Sherif Salama plays her husband. She said \"This series is much hotter than the first one.\"
Khalil also said that although the series is a comedy, it also goes into important issues in Egyptian society: \"What attracted me to this series is that although it is considered a comedy, it doesn\'t belong to the sitcom genre. It discusses issues that are actually present in the Egyptian society.\"
Khalil also gave an insight into her second TV project, The Escape. \"The second series I will be involved in is called \'The Escape\' (Al Horoub) with the actor Karim Abdel Aziz. I play the part of a lawyer who defends the leading actor, and saves him from many situations. It\'s totally different to any role I\'ve had before.\"
Speaking about the competition between sitcoms and dramas during Ramadan, a period during which many channels compete for viewers with high quality programming, Khalil said: \"I\'m happy first to participate in a sitcom during this blessed month. I\'m happy to enter the Ramadan \'fray\' and I consider it a great honour.\"
Egyptian actress Caroline Khalil has appeared in numerous successful projects, including \'People of Cairo\', with the actor Khaled El Sawy, and \'I Want to get Married\' with the actress Hend Sabry.
