Cairo – Shaimaa Mekkawy
Egyptian comedy actor, Hany Ramzy has confirmed to Arabstoday that he is optimistic about the success of his new series ‘Ibn el-Nezam’ (The son of the regime) which will be presented over Ramadan
. In an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, Ramzy revealed that his new series focuses on the taboo but long accepted problem of corruption in Egyptian society.
Ramzy said since the beginning of the Egyptian revolution, he has tried to draw attention to corruption through his work, which is exactly what he does in Ibn el-Nezm, a project he described as “a turning point” in his professional career.
About his competition with veteran artists, Adel Imam and Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, he said: ‘It’s an honour for any artist to compete with a lot of veteran artists like: Adel Imam, Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Yehia El Fakharany and Nour El Sherif.
Regarding the recent rumors about his conflicts with the team because of his interference in their work, Ramzy denied this saying: “I didn’t used to interfere in others’ matters as I know that they are aware of their work more than me and all I can do is just to give my opinion. The decision is theirs when it comes to work and their personal lives. I would never interfere as I would never allow anyone to interfere in my affairs.”
Ramzy confirmed that he will start filming his new movie ‘Tom and Jemmy’ once he finished ‘Ibn el-Nezam’.
