Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamak
Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki is a smart man when it comes to fame, telling Arab Today that he refuses to disclose his political standing
.
The musician is keeping quiet on whether or not he has signed the Tamarod campaign petition against the current Egyptian regime.
Hamaki simply said his politics may be right or wrong, but he wants to avoid any unnecessary trouble.
But the singer assured us that his silence is not out of fear, but his love for Egypt. The star is unsure of what he can do to stabilise the country. Hamki revealed that he joined people in Tahrir Square in the capital Cairo shortly after the presidential elections. He claims to have a neutral stance on the recent political developments, saying: “I’m not with or against the revolution.”
The musician feels the situation in Egypt has been gradually getting worse, since the first day of the uprising – because of its lack of leadership. He added that the swift toppling of the former regime has made the revolutionaries “arrogant” and demand too much too quick.
Hamaki’s latest album is Min Qalbi Baghanni (Singing From My Heart) is out now.
