Shaaban Abdel Rehim
Cairo – Taha Hafiz
Shaaban Abdel Rehim said he is in good health and denied the rumoured lung operation. The Egyptian singer told Arabstoday: “A few days ago I had difficulty breathing normally so I went to hospital. There was nothing serious, I left the
hospital a few hours later. I’m in good health, thank God. But I was surprised to read in some newspapers that I have pulmonary problems!”
Shaaban commented on President Morsi’s speech celebrating October 6 victory: “I liked President Morsi’s speech. If he does what he said, I’ll sing for him.”
Shaaban commented on the song that spread on YouTube “Abu Mazen wa Welado” (Abu Mazen and his sons) in which the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is accused to care only about giving a positive image of his sons and himself. Shaaban explained: “President Abu Mazen is close to my heart, and I can’t attack him. I ask him not to be angry with me because this song is not even mine. I never made a song with that name, but unfortunately, someone has been taking parts of my songs and editing them in one. That’s why it is attributed to me.”
