Renowned Moroccan singer Haja El Hamdaouia
Moroccan singer Haja El Hamdaouia has recently recovered from an eye surgery in Rabat. Even though in her eighties, Hamadaouia looks much
younger when dancing on stage. Excited to be singing and dancing with the King of Rai, she said that her new song would be a duet with singer Cheb Khaled.
Hamadaouia is one of the most prominent stars in Morocco and regardless of her age, her popularity has not waned. She said that has not thought of retiring any time soon, pointing out that her age had nothing to do with her art.
A living icon of Moroccan popular music, Hamadaouia has been a pop star since the time of black and white TV. Famous for having a strong personality, she has created her own style of pop music, catering to all generations. During her performances, she always wears traditional Moroccan dress, a mekhzany kaftan. As a talented artist, Hamadaouia’s songs have become pop classics, adapted by many current Moroccan singers.
