Taylor Swift and LL Cool J in Tennessee
London – Caroline Kent
The nominations for February’s 55th annual Grammy Awards were unveiled on Wednesday night. The Grammy Nominations Concert Live event in Nashville, Tennessee revealed the nominees for all 81 categories. It is set
to be a big year for the boys with armfuls of potential awards ready to be scooped by Jay-Z, Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons and Kanye West. Rapper Nas and producer Jeff Bhasker nabbed four nominations each. Swift and LL Cool J co-hosted the nominations ceremony, where fun., Maroon 5 and Ne-Yo performed live.
But not all of Hollywood was happy with the announcements. Teen heart-throb Justin Bieber's manager caused a few ripples by taking to twitter to accuse members of the Grammy Awards board of “blowing it” by not nominating the pop star. Scooter Braun criticised organisers for failing to include Justin, who scored a double-win at the 2011 ceremony. Braun ranted, "There won't be any wise words, no excuses, I just plain DISAGREE. The kid (Bieber) deserved it. Grammy board u blew it on this one.” He continued, "he deserved to be recognised and I don't really have any kind nice positive things to say about a decision I don't agree with.”
