The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) will be participating in the Investment Management Exhibition (IME), which is set to take place from the 19th to the 21st of May in Zurich, Switzerland. The Authority will be making use of its participation to spotlight the emirate of Sharjah’s highly favourable investment environment and to promote the numerous opportunities that Sharjah offers investors across a multitude of sectors.
(Shurooq) will be represented by Mr Saud Al Suwaidi, Director of International Relations and Partnership, Mr Mohamed Jassim Al Serkal, Senior Marketing Executive, and Ms Shamsah Al Ali, International Relations and Partnerships Coordinator.
Through its participation, Shurooq’s stand at IME, will highlight the four key investment sectors in Sharjah such as; Travel & Leisure, Environment, Healthcare, Transport & Logistics to a carefully selected investor audience to strengthen ties and attract potential investment authorities to promote the numerous facilities, the component and the unique investment advantages of the emirate of Sharjah. These sectors will also be the focus during Shurooq’s participation in the exhibition programme. On the first day of the exhibition Mr Saud Al Suwaidi, Director of International Relations and Partnership will be presenting a session titled, ‘Investment and development opportunities in Sharjah-UAE - Promising sectors: Travel & Leisure, Environment, Healthcare, Transport & Logistics’.
Speaking about the participation, Mr Al Suwaidi remarked, “Sharjah’s investment potential is undeniable, Its economic stability, continued growth, and highly strategic location make it an ideal business and investment hub in the region. Through participating in events such as IME we want to ensure that this extremely positive message reaches the right audience and investors. And we are certain that we will be receiving a great deal of positive feedback during IME.”
Director of International Relations and Partnership also went on to underline that the Authority Is working to attract diverse investments that contribute to the development of Sharjah’s various sectors to ensure long term sustainable growth and enhance investors’ confidence in its vital sectors that achieve high ROI, He emphasised that the Authority would also be promoting its diverse portfolio of development projects including Travel & Leisure to show investors the opportunities that (Shurooq) offer.
Focused on attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), some of the strategic goals of IME is the presentation of investment projects as well as the exploration of possibilities in Public Private Partnership Projects. In light of this IME will provide practical insight and experience to achieve maximum yield from investments, improve fiscal and employment policies, increase market stability and promote development assistance and green growth.
(Shurooq) was established in 2009 with the aim of achieving social, cultural, environmental and economic development on the basis of Sharjah's distinct Arab and Islamic identity, and to encourage investment by adopting the best international standards in providing quality services that help attract investors from the region and the world.
Shurooq's key mission is to provide facilities and incentives to help overcome obstacles facing investment activities in the emirate, evaluate investment-related infrastructure projects, and lay down the necessary plans to complete such projects.
In recognition of its overall accomplishments, (Shurooq) was named The Banking Awards 2013 – and 2014 FDI Agency of the Year in the MENA region, in the European’s Global Banking and Finance Awards.
