During a meeting with members of the proposed representative committee for the “Hotel Apartments” sector, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) discussed the sector’s potential in Sharjah, improvement opportunities, investment prospects and highlighted the challenges facing businesses and investors in general.
The meeting, which was held at the Chamber’s HQ recently, reviewed the 2017 action plan for the sector, which aims to solidify Sharjah’s position as a world-class tourism and business destination. This comes as Sharjah has recorded 3500 hotel apartments at the end of the third quarter 2016.
During the meeting, SCCI stressed its keenness to support the private sector business in the emirate and enhance its role in economic development, through in-depth cooperation with all working groups in various sectors.
Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations Department at SCCI said that the strategic goal behind forming the Hotel apartments sector’s working group, is to help develop the tourism sector in the emirate through applying robust world-class standards, launching beneficial initiatives to support the private sector and encourage investment, in addition to highlighting existing opportunities to associate members.
Al-Jarwan reiterated that SCCI is sparing no effort to bolster all working groups and work closely with them to develop fruitful solutions to overcome various challenges facing businessmen and entrepreneurs. As this will help propel the overall performance of all economic sectors in Sharjah.
Amjad Awad Al Karim, Head of the Working Groups at SCCI, explained the vision and mission of the working groups and their objectives, which is to launch effective and targeted initiatives, such as the study of challenges facing the sector and work to develop solutions, as well as to set up promotional plans that contribute to advancing the performance of collective economic activity.
Ahmad Al-Taniji, Representative of Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and a member of the “Hotel Apartments” sector working group expressed his gratitude to the Chamber’s efforts in supporting the private sector in general and the tourism sector; praising the cooperation of the group members and their joint efforts to develop the sector, and the quality of services provided.
The Department of Economic Relations at the Chamber form groups of such kind and constantly follow-up their activities. Among the most prominent working groups formed by SCCI are the shopping centers’ working group, youth projects sector, industry sector, real estate sector, food trading and manufacturing sector, used car trading sector, hotels sector and hotel apartments sector.
