Mauritanian Energy Minister Altab Wald Abedi
Mauritanian Energy Minister Altab Wald Abedi announced that the Mauritanian Mining, Oil and Gas Exhibition attracted 3200 visitors and international investors.
The Energy Minister is confident that his country will become the leading nation for metal. According to him, exploration projects are being organised to discover the full potential of Mauritania\'s ground, which are set to create jobs and improve the quality of life of many Mauritanians. The Minister is confident that Mauritania\'s gas reserves can allow the country to be self-sufficient. He is also planning to export gas to neighbouring countries. The government has promised to remain transparent on this project and to respect professional ethics.
Mauritanian president Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz visited the Second Mining & Oil and Gas Exhibition, held at Nouakchott Conference Hall. Mining companies, financial institutions and infrastructure companies took part in the initiative. During his tour, the president listened to presentations about the companies’ role in supporting the national economy and reducing unemployment.
