Men sell dates in Moroccan markets
Several Moroccan human rights organisations have condemned the sale of Israeli commodities, including dates, in the Moroccan market.
The groups have called on the government to lift
the lid on any secret deal with the Israel allowing import of Israeli goods into Morocco, warning that any such deal could lead to normalisation with Israel.
A source from the Moroccan Observatory to Confront Normalization with Israel told Arab Today that they had spotted dates in the market with the Israeli sticker, adding that Moroccans were drawn-in due to their cheap price.
The rights organisations urged Moroccan state institutions to cut all ties with Israel and block attempts to normalise relations.
The Moroccan government has not publicly denied importing dates from Israel, and the foreign ministry is believed to keen on importing goods that meet the requirements of Moroccan citizens first, before looking at their origins
