Fuel station owners and fuel transporters have committed to the strike
Beirut - George Shahin

Fuel station owners and fuel transporters have committed to the strike The fuel sector in Lebanon has gone on strike starting from midnight, after calls from the syndicates of fuel station owners and fuel transporters, responding to the government\'s refusal to raise fuel transportation prices, while the syndicate of gas distributers has supported the strike.
Dozens of fuel tanks began to gather around the ministry of power building in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, starting from 8am ( local time), upon a call from the syndicate of the fuel tank owners and drivers, which caused serious traffic congestion in Emile Lahoud highway and other routes.
The Directorate of the internal security forces has issued some regulations for the participating tank drivers, obliging them to line-up single file to the right side of the highway, and warning against any attempt to block the road, while it urged citizens to avoid using the highway during the declared strike period (from 8:30am to 11:30am).
In other provinces, reports claim that  95 per cent of fuel station owners and fuel transporters have committed to the strike, and crowds were seen in front of several fuel stations, while reports from Tyre say that some stations have exploited the crisis by illegally raising fuel prices.
