Etisalat was recognised ‘Best Operator' at the Telecom World Middle East Awards ceremony, recently held in Dubai on the side lines of the Telecom World Middle East event.
The award marks Etisalat's landslide success as the region's leading telecom operator with a robust overall performance in 2014.
It recognises Etisalat's unparalleled achievements and growth in the U.A.E., its string of innovative commercial propositions and a growing customer base, both individuals and businesses, which have firmly put the company on the path to reach its aspiration of being the undisputed integrated operator of choice in the country.
The award is a validation of Etisalat's success in adopting best practices to increase efficiencies, all of which is evident with its dynamic market offerings, improved customer service and operational excellence, thereby positively influencing the company's competitiveness in the U.A.E..
Etisalat has played a significant role in the evolution of the U.A.E.'s telecom landscape by deploying advanced networks and technologies in the country. Etisalat's extensive Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) project has helped rank U.A.E. as the world's most fibre-connected nation, as reported by the FTTH Global Council for two consecutive years since 2012.
As well as Etisalat's leadership in developing the fourth-generation of mobile network (4G LTE), which covers 88 percent of the U.A.E.'s populated regions, the company was also the first in the Middle East to successfully complete the testing of voice over LTE (VoLTE) service.
Expressing his delight with the win, Etisalat's CEO, Engineer Abdullah Saleh Al Abdooli, said, "It gives me great pleasure for Etisalat to have won this award. It is purely a testament and result of the hard work and efforts put in by each of our staff members in every department and at all levels in the organisation.
"The award reflects our drive and determination to maintain Etisalat's position as a leader in telecommunications in the U.A.E.. It's also a strong incentive for our teams, giving them the confidence to move forward and make their sincere contributions in achieving successes that will become a part of Etisalat's history", he concluded.
