A delegation from the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has viewed the progress made during the construction of the infrastructure at Sheikh Khalifa Residential City in Julalrimaya, Western Al Mukalla in Yemen.
During the visit, while accompanied by several ERC engineers and technicians, Abdullah Al Mussaferi, Head of the ERC team in Hadramaut, said that the tour by the delegation comes as part of the ERC’s framework to directly supervise the construction and closely monitor related infrastructure projects, including a project to link water supplies, pave the streets, connect sewage pipes and extend electricity.
The delegation viewed the work that has been ongoing since the signing of an agreement to begin infrastructure projects and related technical initiatives.
The authority that implemented the projects has confirmed that it will conclude the infrastructure works at Sheikh Khalifa Residential City by the end of August 2017, according to the specifications that were called for in previously drafted studies and designs.
The construction of Sheikh Khalifa Residential City is a realisation of the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support Yemen, as it seeks to overcome the disasters in Hadramaut and Al Mohra governorates in October 2008. The project is funded and supervised by the ERC as part of the UAE’s desire to promote and support development projects in Yemen in different areas, including housing, health, education, humanitarian and other services, as well as contribute to the development of its infrastructure, which will serve wide segments of the Yemeni people.
