The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will offer visitors "one of a kind” attractions under the ‘Journey into the Unique' theme, organisers said.
The special events have been outlined as part of the 20th edition of DSF, which will run from January 1 to February 1, 2015.
Youngsters and the young at heart can gear up to watch their favourite Smurfs characters live on stage during their World Premiere show at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Families can also look forward to experiencing the ‘unique' element of DSF in various ways throughout the 32-day extravaganza.
There will be outdoor lifestyle and community events such as Market Outside the Box, Ripe Food and Craft Market and Global Village. The Carpet and Arts Oasis will bring to life the diversity and heritage of Dubai, while Giuliana Rancic's first ever Pop-up Shop in Dubai – set to be the biggest in the festival's history – is poised to be a crowd puller.
With a calendar of events in store to celebrate the key themes of shopping, winning and entertainment, the 20th edition of DSF will offer over 150 citywide events, attractions and numerous shopping opportunities and winning options for visitors and residents from around the world.
DSF is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
The 20th edition of DSF is expected to attract 4-4.5 million people, as it does on average.
Leading the events line-up will be the DSF Orchestra, led by the Welsh National Opera Orchestra that will kick off the 20th anniversary celebration in Zabeel Park on January 1.
Also planned are raffle draws, daily firework displays, concerts, street and stage performances, bazaars and many other activities.
More details of other events and attractions are available on the DSF website, mydsf.ae.
