Head of Moroccan government Abdelilah Benkirane (C)
Rabat - Arab Today

Head of Moroccan government Abdelilah Benkirane (C) Head of government, Abdelilah Benkirane called Thursday on the European Union to quickly find practical solutions to preserve the contractual interests of the Kingdom, and maintain the traditional flows of Moroccan exports of fruits and vegetables into the European market in accordance with the Agreement on Agriculture.
In a meeting with Rupert Joy, Head of the EU Delegation in Rabat on the new provisions relating to the common agricultural policy of the EU, Benkirane expressed to the European official the “deep concern” of the Moroccan Government regarding the”negative” impact of these new provisions, including the modification of the mechanisms of the access price, especially the Moroccan agricultural exports into the European market, said a statement from the department of the head of government.
The adoption of this new mechanism, decided “unilaterally” by the EU, is in actual conflict with the EU’s commitments in the World Trade Organization (WTO) because it completely ignores the relevant provisions of the Association Agreement between Morocco and the European Union, the statement added.
