Today, Thursday will see the launch of the annual Superheroes Festival at Al Majaz Waterfront. The festival, which will run from November 19 – 21, offers the chance for adults and children alike to don their capes and enjoy a masterclass in saving the world superheroes style.
In partnership with Sharjah based organisation FUNN, the festival will feature a fantastic array of performances, films and workshops. FUNN was established by the Sharjah government to promote media arts for and among children and youth in the UAE, and the festival, which offers the very best in media entertainment, fulfils that remit perfectly.
Speaking on the festival, Al Majaz Waterfront Manager, Mohammed Fadhel Al Mazroui said: "Families visiting the festival will be swept up in a kaleidoscope of superhero colours, with activities ranging from film viewings and shows to pop quizzes, workshops and the chance to meet and shake hands with their favourite comic superheroes. Getting young people to engage with their imaginations is so important and we are really excited to see the magic of superhero films come alive for attendees at this year's festival."
Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of FUNN, added, “Our organisation was established to nurture a future generation of creative artists in media and film. The world of superheroes that this festival exposes the youth to perfectly represents the possibilities of what can be created with an open and eager imagination. Our hope is that each and every person who attends the festival is inspired to achieve greatness and to not let conventional ideas of what is possible stop them from reaching for the stars."
