Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, ADNEC, is in the final preparation stages to host the 13th Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, ADIHEX 2015, from 9th to 12th September under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers' Club, EFC.
Organised by EFC and supported by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festival Committee in Abu Dhabi, the annual event seeks to showcase the country's deep rooted local traditions and the cultural heritage associated with camel racing, equestrian sports, falconry, hunting and fishing, in addition to highlighting the importance of their preservation for generations to come.
The event will feature various activities and competitions such as saluki and falcon beauty contests, photography, drawing and poetry competitions, as well as a wide variety of traditional hunting and equestrian activities.
ADIHEX is the only consumer and trade event in the Middle East dedicated to promoting traditional sports, heritage events and related activities. The exhibition draws the participation of hunting and traditional sports enthusiasts in various activities and competitions, offering them a productive and interactive experience.
Launched in 2003, ADIHEX articulates Abu Dhabi's ongoing efforts to preserve popular sporting activities of the past and promote the concept of sustainable hunting. With the participation of many international companies, ADIHEX 2015 is set to give visitors the opportunity to interact with thousands of hunting and sports enthusiasts in an informal, open air space and purchase the latest camping, hunting, equestrian, and weaponry equipment. The event will include an area assigned to introduce visitors to the rich heritage and traditions of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
ADNEC offers 133,000 sq. m. of inter-connected floor space to match the expectations of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with modern facilities and built to international standards, ADNEC attracted 1.6 million people across 327 national and international events in 2014.
