Razak Omotoyossi
Benin striker Razak Omotoyossi will be available for selection if Zamalek reach the Egyptian Cup final, as the club has formally completed his signing from Swedish side Syrianska FC .
“Omotoyossi will receive
his international clearance on Monday,” Zamalek said in a statement on their official website.
“The club has completed his signing after paying Syrianska $150,000. Omotoyossi will arrive in Cairo on Saturday,” the statement added.
Zamalek sought to sign the 25-year-old in the close season, but their persistent financial problems and Syrianska’s desire to hold onto Omotoyossi delayed the move.
Omotoyossi’s arrival will come as a major boost for Zamalek coach Hassan Shehata, who was given a selection headache upfront after Ahmed Gaafar was suspended for allegedly spitting at an opponent, following the team’s win over Gouna in the Egyptian Cup quarterfinal.
Ahmed Hossam “Mido” has yet to make a first appearance since rejoining his boyhood club last January due to fitness and weight issues.
Furthermore, Amr Zaki could play as lone striker when Zamalek face Haras El-Hodoud, a military side, in Saturday’s Egyptian Cup semi-final. Arab Contractors and ENPPI will meet in the other semi-final.
