Italian Giulio Ciccone on Tuesday won the tenth stage of the Giro d'Italia which was marked by the withdrawl of Sky team leader and race favourite Mikel Landa.
Ivan Rovny (Tinkoff) came home second, 42 seconds down, followed by Darwin Atapuma (BMC) a further 40 seconds later, both having been part of the day’s break.
Luxembourg's Bob Jungels took the leader's pink jersey from Italy's Gianluca Brambilla after the 219km stage between Campi Bisenzio and Sestola.
Jungels now holds a 26-second lead from Costa Rican Andrey Amador in the overall standings, with former champion and home hope Vincenzo Nibali fifth, less than a minute adrift.
