Rachid Tawsi
Rachid Tawsi has been appointed new coach of the Moroccan national football team to replace Belgian coach Eric Gerets by the Royal Moroccan federation.
Rachid Tawsi has been competing until the last second with
Badou Zaki for the role, the latter being extremely popular among Moroccan fans. He is the former coach of the FAR Rabat.
An informed source confirmed that the former player to the Moroccan football team, Noureddine Naybet, played an important role in favour of Rachid Tawsi at the expense of Badou Zaki, as there were some disputes between Badou Zaki and Noureddine Naybet in 2005, which resulted in the exclusion of Naybet.
Choosing Tawsi was a surprise for many, as local and international media reported this news. Even informed sources said that Royal Moroccan Football Federation was negotiating the terms of Badou Zaki's contract.
On Saturday morning, Moroccan Facebook users called for excluding Noureddine Naybet from the Moroccan Football team. They even threaten to take the streets in case Badou Zaki is not selected.
It should be mentioned that the new coach did not lead the first team for the Moroccan national football team, but in return he achieved a group of some titles with the clubs he trained in Morocco, most notable was a historic triple with Maghreb Fez, last season.
