Mahmoud Al Mawas (C) has not been invited to the training camp
Syria\'s national football team has begun preparations for its upcoming Asian Cup qualifier against Jordan with a behind-closed-doors training camp
in Damascus.
Twenty-five domestic players have been invited to the camp, including Halabi Union striker Redwan Qalaji. However, several senior players are unlikely to be able to take part due to the international road between Aleppo and Damascus being blocked.
Surprisingly, a number of Syrian professional playing abroad have been not invited to the training camp, including the likes of Mahmoud Al Mawas and Ahmad al-Douni.
It is believed that a final training camp will take place in Tehran from August 5, until the game itself on August 15 at the Shahid Dastgerdi stadium.
The Asian Cup takes place in Australia in 2015.
