The English Premier League club of Stoke City have signed Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi from Al Ahly for a fee that could rise to €6 million.
"Stoke City are proud to announce they have completed the signing of teenage Egyptian star Ramadan Sobhi from Al Ahly after being granted a work permit," the club said in an official statement.
"The Potters have agreed a fee that could rise to €6 million for the 19-year-old, who has been capped six times by his country and is widely regarded as the most exciting prospect in African football," the statement added.
"He is a special young talent who is excited about the prospect of making an impact in the Premier League," Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said.
Sobhi, who is expected to receive his UK visa over the next 48 hours, is likely to join his new teammates in the US city of Orlando later this week where they are preparing for the new campaign.
Sobhi is a graduate of the Al Ahly youth system and made his professional debut as a 16-year-old, earning his international cap a year later.
