Stephan El Shaarawy has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal
AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy scored in the side's 4-1 home win against Pescara on Sunday afternoon.
The Italian footballer, of Egyptian descent provided an assist for Antonio Nocerino
in the first minute of the game, and rounded off a fine performance with his 81st minute tap-in.
Pescara struggled to cope with Milan's pace and movement, with defeat keeping them in the relegation zone after 17 games. After Nocerino's opener, Milan doubled their lead courtesy of an own goal from Elvis Abbruscato. Christian Terlizzi pulled a goal back for the away side on the 56th minute, and Antonio Balzano missed a glorious chance to equalise just a few minutes later.
Milan made sure of the points when Pescara's Jonathas scored another own goal, before El Shaarawy's late finish. The win sees Milan hold on to 7th place after the weekend's results.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted at a January move for El Shaarawy. The 20-year old is contracted to the Serie A outfit until the summer of 2017. However, Wenger has revealed that he is a fan of the striker's playing style. "El Shaarawy is a very mobile, very technical young player. His philosophy fits perfectly with mine," Wenger told Eurosport.
When asked if El Shaarawy is a January transfer target, Wenger added, "you never know. I just say I love the way he plays."
El Shaarawy's transfer fee is likely to be around the £20m mark.
