Palestinian President meets with women\'s football team

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with the UAE National Women\'s delegation in the presence of President of the Olympic Committee and President of the Palestinian Federation of Football Major General Jibril Rajoub. The meeting
took place at the presidency headquarter of Ramallah\'s Emirati female football team.
In his meeting President Abbas said: \"Sport is very important to help transfer Palestinian struggles and emphasise the right to establish their independent state on their national soil - like other people in the world.\"
He mentioned the importance of such visits, including those of Arab delegations to Palestine to help break the siege and support Palestinians in their occupied lands.
The Palestinian team was defeated on Sunday by the Emirati team in a friendly match (4-2) at the Green International Stadium.
Emirati player, Dalila Zoroky, scored the first goal in the 12th minute, followed by a goal from Eman Tarouda in the 16th minute. Striking continued by the Emirati players and Sarah Mohamed scored the third goal in the 34th minute. Walaa Hussien scored for Palestine in the 37th minute, accompanied by Carole Sahigan who scored the second goal in the 44th minute. However Eman Tarouda reinforced the Emirati result by the fourth goal in the second half, ending the match (4-2) for Emirati team.
