Nadal's two-and-a-half wait to appear in a Grand Slam semi-final is over after beating Milos Raonic 6-4 7-6 (9-7) 6-4.
The 14-time Grand Slam winner, has been troubled by injuries in recent years, was back to his resilient best and saved as many as six set points in the second set before dominating the third one and sealing the victory.
The King of Clay hopes to become the first player in the open era and third in history to win every Grand Slam twice. No active tennis player has achieved that feat and Nadal is one Australian Open title away from achieving the feat. Standing in the way could be arch-nemesis and tennis legend Roger Federer, who faces Stan Wawrinka tomorrow.
