Marrakech International Marathon

Organisers of the Marrakech International Marathon held a press conference on Thursday, ahead of the hotly anticipated sporting event coming to the Moroccan capital on January
27.
The conference, chaired by President of the Marathon’s Organising Committee Mohamed Knidiri, revealed the marathon winner would receive 12,000 dirham, with 8,000 going to the winner of the half-marathon.
Prizes would also be awarded to the top 10 Moroccan athletes to cross the finish line.
The Marrakech International Marathon’s route is considered one of the finest in the world, ranked first in Africa and 25th worldwide by the International Athletics Federation [IAAF].
More than 5,000 athletes from all over the world are expected to take part in the race.
