Paul Ince (L) has been reunited with his son, Tom at Blackpool
Former footballer Paul Ince says he is delighted after being named the new manager of Championship side Blackpool FC.
The 45-year old signed a rolling one-year contract
at Bloomfield Road on Monday afternoon, and spoke to the club\'s official website afterwards.
\"I’m over the moon and delighted, it’s great to be here back on the training ground and great to be involved with, and in charge of, a great bunch of lads,\" said Ince.
\"I’ve been quite frustrated to be fair because when I look back on my short period of time as a manager we’ve had some good times and some bad times and you learn from your bad times. I’ve still got a 43% win ratio, which is fairly good so to be out for such a period of time has been quite frustrating but the wife’s happy as it gets me out of the house. I think she’s happier than I am!\"
The former MK Dons and Notts County boss met his new players for the first time on Monday morning, and said his immediate focus is to deliver a change in form.
\"They’ve gone through a hard spell in the past few months and that’s shown if you look at the results. They haven’t won as many games as they would have liked and I think that’s down to managers coming in and out and the lads probably didn’t know if they were coming or going. There has been a lot of turmoil, which has reflected, not necessarily in their performances, but in their results. It’s early doors, but when I’ve seen them over the past 14 months one thing that goes without saying is that there is an unbelievable spirit about the lads.\"
The appointment sees Ince link up with his 21-year-old son Tom, who has scored 17 goals in 33 appearances this season.
