Tunisia Road Rally
Tunisia is to host, next October 23-29, the first "Tunisia Road Rally" of motorcycling with the participation of more than 70 competitors representing France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United States
of America and Tunisia.
This 7-stage rally, which covers a distance of 2,400 km, is organised in collaboration with the Ministries of Trade and Tourism and Youth and Sports.
François-Xavier Huille, manager of Evenmoto, said during a meeting with the press, held Thursday in Tunis, that this "international rally is part of the schedule of the French Motorcycle Federation for 2011 season and will be important as it will be organised in the atmosphere of new post- Revolution Tunisia."
In turn, sports director of the tournament Patrick Bournisien said that "this international event helps Tunisia in its efforts to revive tourism and promote the destination of post Revolution Tunisia overseas, notably among the traditional markets of Tunisian sports tourism."
He also announced that "this rally will see the commitment of such competitors of international experience, like French Vincent Philippe (5 times world endurance champion), Freddy Forray (1 time world endurance champion) and Tunisian expatriate in the United States Hamdi Ben Mami."
