London - Arabstoday

County Ground in the English city of Bristol is one of the venues England and Wales have won the right to hold the 2019 World Cup, the International Cricket Council has confirmed. The England and Wales Cricket Board received the go-ahead to host the 50-over tournament at a meeting of cricket heads in Dubai.
ECB chief executive David Collier said: "The ECB is honoured to have been selected to stage one of the largest and most important global sports events which will be a wonderful boost to sport and cricket in particular throughout England and Wales."
According to the ECB, 10 venues will be selected to host matches with the nine Test grounds and the County Ground in Bristol – already used for one day internationals – with the final taking place at Edgbaston.
"The signing of this agreement now enables ECB to enter into Staging Agreements with venues who wish to stage matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019," Collier added.
The World Cup will take place throughout June and involve 10 teams, and will follow from the ICC Champions Trophy, a similar but separate event, which takes place in England this June.
