Abdoun was injured during a recent match against Panionios
Algerian international footballer Djamel Abdoun and play maker of the Greek team Olympiacos, announced that he would not participate in the upcoming African Cup of Nation - scheduled to be held in South Africa
on January 19.
He stressed that although he could not neglect defending the name of his national team and expressed his appreciation to his coach for selecting him, he felt it was best for him to not play due to his current injury.
Algeria’s coach announced the final list of 24 players who would represent the Algerian national team, including Djamel Abdoun, who was injured during the recent match with Panionios.
Abdoun said in a press statement that he decided against the call because of the injury, adding that it is not logical to venture through with such conditions.
