Military clashes escalated between Yemen’s governmental troops on one hand and Houthi militias and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the other hand in the western side of Mareb governorate and Naham area in the eastern side of Sana’a
In Mareb, a state of tension dominates Seraweh Front, as the Houthi militants bombarded the sites of army and resistance, while the Arab Coalition intensified its air raids against the strongholds of the insurgents. According to a military source, the governmental troops exchanged artillery and missile attacks with the militias, leading to the fall of deaths and injuries from both sides.
However, Sana’a’s Naham front witnessed intensive clashes between the governmental troops loyal to the internationally-recognized government on one hand and Houthi militias and other forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the other hand. The Arab Coalition raided Gen. 63 Republican Guard camp controlled by the insurgents.
According to tribal sources, the governmental troops attempted to achieve advance towards Eida area, while they failed, saying that they attacked the sites of Houthi militias in a number of areas, including Madfoon, Manara, Megawha and Beni Farag.
Arab Coalition’s fighter jets intensified their raids on Houthi sites and camps in the Yemeni governorate of Al Hadida in addition to other sites in Bajel and Khokha.
According to sources, the Arab Coalition’s fighter jets targeted Majd Camp on Monday killing 155 militants during eating their lunch, while dozens of them have been injured. The fighter jets also destroyed weapons stores possessed by the insurgents in the fronts of Herd and Medi.
The sources added that the raids led to loud explosions in dozens of sites to store the weapons, saying that the raids targeted rallies of people and weapons stores possessed by the insurgents in the southern area of Medi.
The raids came to undermine the Houthi efforts to increase the number of fighters in the fronts of Herd and Medi. The Houthi militias received military support composed of equipment, soldiers and jets to achieve advance at the expense of the governmental troops.
