Yemeni army announced the killing of 20 Houthi militants on Sunday at Sada governorate in the northern side of the country. Military source revealed that 20 insurgents have been killed during their attempt to infiltrate to the areas controlled by the governmental troops, saying that the militias witnessed increasing losses on both humanitarian and equipment level.

The Arab Coalition’s fighter jets bombarded the sites related to the Houthi militias and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh at Herd Front. The raids led to the destruction of a tank possessed by the insurgents in addition to the killing of a large number of militants.

The Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, demanded the United Nations to put the strategic port of Hadida under its supervision. The demand came after that attack conducted by a fighter jet against a ship carrying refugees leading to the killing of 42 persons. The Arab Coalition denied its responsibility over the attack calling the United Nations to supervise the strategic port.

The coalition said, in a press statement, that the step would ease the delivery of humanitarian supplies to the Yemeni people and could prevent the smuggling of weapons and humans.

In Abu-Dhabi, Emirati Minister of Foreign Affairs Anwar Qaraqash revealed that the Yemeni crisis should be resolved in the framework international and Gulf initiatives. The statement came during his meeting with UN Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed to discuss the recent developments witnessed in the country during the recent period.

The Emirati official expressed his country’s support for the political efforts exerted by the United Nations to reach a political solution in Yemen, stressing the need for finding political solution for the Yemeni crisis as soon as possible.

Qaraqash condemned the Houthi militias as they turned to use the excessive force and to destabilize the country to achieve gains and to control the state. He underlined the increasing efforts exerted by his government to contain the humanitarian crisis witnessed in the country.

He added that the Houthi militias strongly depends on the Iranian support on both political and military levels, saying that his country considers the Houthi dependence on the Iranian tool to achieve their objectives poses serious threat against the region. He stressed that they will not accept such a threat against the aspiration of the people of the region.
