New round of clashes erupted between the Yemeni governmental troops supported by the Arab Coalition in one hand and Houthi militias and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the other hand at Naham front, on the eastern side of the Yemeni capital Sana'a. The Yemeni army attacked a number of areas, including Madfoon, Manara, Megawha, and Beni Farag, as the Houthi militias launched artillery attack on Hool village controlled by the governmental troops.
The Arab Coalition, on its hand, launched air raids on Naham's Qobara area and other sites in its surrounding areas. In Zamar governorate, Houthi militias clashed with Atama tribes, as the insurgents launched artillery attack on the area. According to tribal source, the tribes prevented the militants from achieving advance in the area, saying that the Houthis suffered from increasing losses.
The clashes came a week after the bombing of two residential buildings possessed by two prominent tribal leaders in the area, including Sheikh Abdel Hamid Mowada and Abdel Rahman Mowada. The sources revealed that the Houthi militias turned to bomb the houses of their political rivals during in the different Yemeni governorates the recent period.
Atama witnessed violent clashes during the recent two weeks, as the insurgents turned to kidnap a large number of citizens in the ares. Yemeni parliamentarian Abdel Wahab Mowada launches a campaign against the Houthi approach on social media, prompting the militants to kidnap his son and a number of his relatives to spark the clashes between the militants and tribe's members.
The Houthi militias imposed a siege against the villages of Atama not to allow the resistance loyal to the legitimate government dominate the area. Reema area, adjacent to Atama, is qualified for new round of clashes, as the majority of its population refuse the presence of Houthi militias.
