The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised Egypt for its efforts in the refugee crisis plaguing the region, citing the Holy Quran at this point, saying: "The Quran called for providing the protection of refugees, whether they were believers or non-believers.
It came during Guterres' visit to the Cairo University on Wednesday, where he delivered a speech in presence of some state officials. He added that protection provided to refugees for being humans, regardless of their faith, expressing his appreciation for his presence at Cairo University and their role in society, pointing out that everyone is living in a multi-international-polar world, and many of the countries in the region in conflict threaten its security.
