The Arab League officially announced that Syria signed the Protocol to allow in fact-finding monitors in an hour, which is considered the first step to implement the Arab initiative to resolve the Syrian crisis
.
In an official statement, the Arab League had already stated that “The protocol will be signed by Faisal Meqdad, Syrian Deputy-Foreign Minister, and Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil el-Arabi, at the HQ in Cairo.”
According to the Arab League, a delegation of monitors will be sent to Syria to start implementing the initiative within the next few days.
