Muslim Brotherhood claims 39 per cent in second round of elections
Cairo – Akram Ali

Muslim Brotherhood claims 39 per cent in second round of elections Cairo – Akram Ali The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood’s political arm, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), announced they won 39 per cent of votes in the second round of the Egyptian elections while accusing the Egyptian Supreme Commission for Elections of influencing the result.
The results were announced for six party lists out of 12, which are the first and second list in Bani Suef, the second list in Sharqia, the second list in Monofia, Suez’s list and Aswan’s list. In addition to postponing the voting in three lists at this round, the second list is Behera, Sohag and the first list in Monofia.
For the individual seats, 39 of the FJP candidates will be in the run-off vote, while the result hasn’t been released yet for five individual candidates in Giza, Ismailia and Sharqia.
FJP said in a press release that it will announce the results during the next few hours, and it had comments about the second round according to their representatives who were monitoring the polling stations. In Ismailia, when the announced results were contrary to reality, it was decided to re-count the votes.
The party assured in the same statement that it respected the results that reflect people’s will, but it will never accept the forced influence of results, and this was the Supreme Commission for Elections’ responsibility.
