French President Francois Hollande
Beirut – Georges Chahine
French President Francois Hollande is set to visit Beirut on Sunday in support of President Michel Suleiman.
Hollande will stop in Beirut on his way from France to Saudi Arabia. Holland said the visit is
aimed to support dialogue with Lebanon about its defence strategy and government issues.
This visit might impact the expected visit of Prime Minister Najib Mikati to Paris on November 19, sources said.
March 14 forces believe that Saudi Arabia will try to delay Mikati’s visit to Paris to force him to resign.
Sources said those rumours were discarded though as official dates were already set and cannot be changed.
President Hollande will be in Lebanon for three hours in the Baabda Presidential Palace.
Hollande and his accompanying delegation will arrive at Rafiq Hariri International Airport and will be received by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Muqbel.
