The Yemeni Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) announced Friday evening the victory of the sole candidate in the presidential elections, Abd Rabbu Mansur Hadi, by 99.8 percent
of total valid votes in the consensus presidential elections held on Tuesday 21 February, where 6,660,093 Yemenis voted for him.
Head of SCER Mohamed Hakimi stated, in a press conference held in Sanaa on Friday, that participants in the elections were all registered in the electoral records, making a total of 10,200,000 voters of legal age.
Hakimi said the number of valid votes in the elections were 6,651,166 votes, of which 6,635,192 were in favour of Hadi, whereas 15,974 did not vote for him. The number of invalid votes, according to Hakimi, reached 8,927 votes.
