Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi vows to fight against corruption
Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi called Thursday for \"all the pro-change forces\" to maintain the dynamic of change and the spirit of renewal. In a statement issued on the 45th anniversary of the nation\'s
Independence Day, November 30, the President warned that elements in some state institutions were \"spreading confusion, frustration and despair, and question the rightness of what we jointly have intended to achieve, which is a new Yemen, where the individual becomes a real figure.\"
\"The wheel of change is rolling. We will fight against corruption and reform the judiciary institutions, public administration, public finance structures and control bodies. We will double our actions to take care of the poor and low-income people. We will enhance the presence of Yemeni women in the field of development and national advancement,\" Hadi said in the statement, as reported by the state-run news agency Saba.
Hadi reiterated his call for all sides to take part effectively in the dialogue conference, particularly the Southern Movement which still insists on boycotting the conference to underpin the foundations of the new Yemen and solve all issues via democratic dialogue and accord.
President Hadi described the dialogue conference as \"the first of its kind in the history of Yemen\", saying: \"We must take advantage of this historic moment that has never occurred and may not occur again in Yemen\'s history, by participating in the dialogue conference, which is open for all factions without preconditions or recommendations influenced by others.\"
\"The dialogue is the only alternative to wars, bloody conflicts and schisms. We hope that the collective national mindset will rise to the level of the great national missions, which will be achieved,\" he said.
In his statement, the president referred to several issues and developments on the national arena, including the arrangements for the national dialogue, the achieved steps to complete the second stage of the transitional stage, economic and development trends and the successes made in counter-terrorism and enhancing security and stability in the country.
