A state of tension around Aden airport amid the intervention of Apache helicopters, affiliated to the Arab Coalition, targeting a vehicle belonging to the presidential forces, in an area close to the airport which witnesses a military rebellion.
Military sources said that the Apache shelled a military vehicle belonging to the presidential Yemeni forces which are besieging the security forces tasked to protect the airport, in order to compel its leadership to surrender.
No causalities among local forces were reported, but escalating tension is expected, after clashes erupted in the maritime line in the city.
Yemeni military sources confirmed that the clashes, which occurred early Sunday, came just hours after the deterioration of the relations between the Yemeni President's son, Nasser Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who is leading the presidential brigades, and the commander Saleh al-Amiri responsible for the protection of Aden airport.
Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi held an urgent meeing at the Interior Ministry to follow up the incidents and take the right decision.
The emergency meeting with military and security leaders, in the presence of the Prime Minister Ahmed Obaid, to follow up the developments in Aden, and take action.
