Calm dominates Egypt’s Tahrir Square in “Reunion Friday”
Cairo – Akram Ali
Calm dominates Cairo’s Tahrir Square on Friday morning, dubbed “Reunion”, which was called by several Egyptian political movements to hold a reconciliation between Tahrir
square’s protesters and their counterparts in Abassya square, and to unify demands in a consensual form , in order to prevent further clashes.
A number of street vendors spread across Tahrir Square, in the absence of the 'people's committees', and the traffic flow is normal.
A small number of protesters stayed in their tents at the Square Park, whereas some protesters made a small platform on the sidewalk in front of the American University, however, the square did not witness huge numbers of demonstrators as any other million-man protests.
