Hamas member Dr Mahmoud al-Zahar Gaza – Mohammad Habib Hamas member Dr Mahmoud al-Zahar has announced that the resistance fighters who died during Israel’s aggression on Gaza comprise just a minor percentage of the death toll and injuries. In an interview with television station Al-Aqsa, al-Zahar said on Thursday: “Those injured comprise just a small number of those who launched rockets or were gunmen.”
Hamas said it is at the preparation stage,  and has not left the battlefield and is not solely preoccupied with government politics.
“If we stop at this stage, we will have lost all progress. We will not stop until we reach Al-Aqsa mosque and pray at al-Fatiha,” he said.
He said Israel’s intended ground invasion of Gaza was uncalled for and would never be allowed.
Iran supported Israel with arms and funding and did not demand anything in return, but said: “we used it in the right place.”
Al-Zahar said there should be good relations between Hamas and Islamic countries like Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and Indonesia.
He said the resistance victory must make Fatah reconsider its political stance adding, “Those who thought the West Bank killed the spirit of resistance are gravely mistaken.”
The attacks on Tel Aviv last Wednesday were one of the factors that pressurised the West and the Israeli army to sign the truce agreement.
Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said that the resistance groups changes the rules of the game with Israel and confused their military teams after the aggression on the Gaza Strip.
“Israel will never again consider invading Gaza,  and any future aggression on the Gaza Strip will not be attempted,” Haniyeh said.
Haniyeh called on Arab leaders to develop a strategy to lift the siege on Gaza and support the Palestinian cause.
“The most important goal of this fight was to assess the changes in the region after the Arab Spring and to determine if the changes had any substance,” he said.
He commended the swift reaction from the Arab League and its solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The delegation of ten Arab ministers headed by Arab League Secretary Nabil Elaraby visited Gaza in a show of support and to facilitate a truce.
He thanked the Egyptian intelligence chief Rafat Shehadeh and his staff for helping to reach a truce agreement
