Aden power plant suspended
Violent clashes between military forces and tribesmen in Yemen have resulted in the death of 11 Yemenis.
Sources have said that heavy artillery was used excessively in the clashes.
It was reported that the bombing of an oil pipeline, was the reason behind the violence. Armed tribesmen attacked power lines in the province of Mareb, suspending the main power plant in Yemen and cutting electricity in Sanaa and other Yemeni cities.
Meanwhile, militia relating to the Yemeni army in Aden announced on Monday that they managed to discover a cell related to the radical organisation, al-Qaeda.
Governmental sources quoted a leader of the militia, Mahjoub Mahmoud Nemi, as saying they discovered the cell due to information obtained from an arrested Saudi citizen affiliated to the organisation.
He added that the cell is composed of seven Yemenis and three Saudis. Nemi stressed that the cell was scheduled to target a number of security leaders in the province.
