Departing from Paris on August 30, the Venice Simplon Orient Express is set to arrive in Turkey on Wednesday. According to the written statement published by the Turkish State Railways, the legendary train Venice Simplon Orient Express departed from Paris on August 30 starting its traditional yearly voyage to Istanbul passing Vienna, Budapest, Sinai, Bucharest and Varna en route. Due to the road construction going on at Cerkezkoy-Halkali region on Istanbul, the passengers on the train will be transferred by buses from Ispartakule to Sirkeci Terminal. The train, which will depart from Ispartakule on Friday, September 6 and start its voyage to Venice through Bucharest, Sinai, Budapest and Vienna, has 15 carriages including 8 wagon-lit carriages, 2 saloon cars, 1 bar car, 3 restaurant cars and 1 service car accommodating 160 passengers in total. Orient Express, which has inspired many celebrities including Agatha Christie and Alfred Hitchcock since it started operating in 1883, has been running a once-a-year service from Paris to Istanbul in September since 1998.
