Minister of Transport Galal Mostafa Saeed on Monday decided to ban the establishment of any level crossings on the railway network across the country.
The minister held a meeting late Sunday with the Egyptian Railway Authority Chairman Medhat Shousha to discuss developing the level crossings and railway stations.
The minister asserted that a big reform program will be soon implemented to improve railway services offered to passengers and level crossings.
He also assessed current construction works at the level crossings and the automatic control systems for as many as 1,100 levels.
He also urged accelerating work round-the-clock to finish current level crossings under construction.
