The Fayyoum- Al Wasta train movement resumed on Thursday after unidentified men detonated an explosive device under the railway track.
The blast ripped apart sections of the track.
Acting upon a tip-off, civil security forces and sappers rushed to the scene and combed the area in search for any other explosive charges.
The malfunction at the railway line was repaired and the train movement was restored to normal.
