Cote d'Ivoire today announced the suspension of all its air flights to and from countries where Ebola epidemic is spreading and prevented all companies from carrying passengers from these countries to Abidjan.
In a statement the government said it has decided to suspend flights of Air Cote d'Ivoire to and from countries with a high prevalence of the disease and also decided to prevent airlines from carrying to Cote d'Ivoire passengers coming from countries in which cases of hemorrhagic fever caused by Ebola were reported.
Late last week, West African countries intensified efforts to contain the Ebola epidemic which caused about one thousand deaths during eight months, with the hope that an antibiotic under test or a vaccine under preparation could be used.
