The Interior Ministry has cautioned all citizens who wish to travel to the Ugandan capital, "Kampala" that they have to obtain an entry visa from the embassy of Uganda in Riyadh.
This warning made by Major General Dr. Mohammed Al-Maro'l, Director of General Department of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Interior .
He pointed out that the ministry had received from the Foreign Ministry as stating the increasing cases of detention of citizens by the "Entebbe" airport agencies almost daily and frequently, especially those who have arrived there without an entry visa, although that Ugandan regulations allow the citizen to obtain a visa at the airport, where they are stopped and charged with the presence of their names on the list of the wanted by security under the pretext of terrorism, to blackmail them.
The ministry also stressed the need to get a confirmed booking at a hotel and beware of carrying large sums of money and show them in front of others and not to pay any amounts as (bribes) to any employee, whether inside or outside the airport.
It said that in case of any of the above mentioned incidents, the citizen should contact the Saudi embassy in Uganda through No. 00256792222281
