The UAE ministry of interior has decided to create a unit at the immigration and residency department to "please visitors” by providing them with all the required services quickly and smoothly, newspapers reported on Monday.
Similar units would also be set up at a later stage at other interior ministry service centres, which deal directly with the public, they said, quoting a ministry statement.
"This new section will extend quick and smooth services that surpass expectations in line with directives by the leadership to shift from the conventional services to a new age with the aim of pleasing all visitors and guests at the immigration and residency department,” said Major-General Khalifa Al Khaily, the ministry's acting assistant undersecretary for naturalisation and residency.
"This experience will later be extended to all service centres affiliated to the ministry…this new service will be enforced through advanced electronic applications and systems that will ensure instant reports to the decision makers.”
